It's my Dad's New Website Questions
1. It was intended to elicit joy, nostalgia, and love.
2. I think it was successfully conveyed.
3. When he was running and chasing the birds, the color of it, how little he was.

Video Response
1. The main concept was to adopt 'responsibly.' Don't get a pet if you aren't willing to take care of it.
2. The video was sad.
3. The filmmakers were trying to show you how cruel it is by showing a child instead of a dog. You wouldn't treat a child like that so don't treat your dog that way
4. The message was conveyed because it made you feel awful for the way they were treating the child and then showed it as a dog, and it made me not want any creature to go through that.

"The Wrong Trousers"
Plot: A penguin uses Gromit's birthday present of mechanical pants to trap Wallace and force him to steal the diamond for him.
Theme: The bad guys always get caught/defeated.
Exposition-
Characters: The protagonists were Gromit. The antagonist was the penguin. A supporting character was Wallace and he was round because he helped move the plot along. He was the penguin's prisoner, almost.
Setting: Most of this movie took place at night in Wallace and Gromit's house or the museum in a town in Britain.
Mood: The main moods are anger and sadness. Gromit is angry with Wallace for his birthday presents and for inviting someone to live with them. He is sad because the penguin is taking his place and room and making it difficult for him to stay there.
Rising Action/Climax/Falling Action-
Rising Action: The rising action is that the penguin comes to live with them and begins taking over. He irritates Gromit so much that Gromit runs away from home and that is when the penguin makes changes to the mechanical pants and traps Wallace in them.
Climax: The penguin controls the pants and brings Wallace to the museum while he's sleeping and gets him inside. He uses Wallace to steal the diamond, sets the alarm off, and run back to the house before getting caught. He then traps Wallace and Gromit in a wardrobe and makes a break for it, but Wallace and Gromit escape and chase him down.
Falling Action: They use the trains to catch the penguin and they catch him in a bottle. They turn the penguin in to the police.
Resolution-
Comic resolution: Wallace and Gromit are better off because the reward money for the penguin helped them pay their bills and still have money left over.
Theme: The bad guys always get caught/defeated.

"A Close Shave"
Title: This title was selected because it is a pun. The end
was a ‘close save’ while also being a close shave on the dog’s fur. The opening
credits foreshadow the sheep rustling and that Wallace and Gromit will be a
part of it. It also shows who the bad guys are.
Story/Plot/Narrative: The story was Wallace and Gromit
trying to save the sheep and clear Gromit’s name. The plot of the story was
that Preston was actually a robot and he was using the sheep to make his dog
food. Also that Wendolene was a part of
the rustling. The narration of the movie
is Wallace and Gromit find a sheep in their home after returning home from
washing windows and Wendolene’s shop, who Wallace has fallen for. Preston finds
Wallace’s lab and steals the blue prints for his knit machine. Gromit tries to
save the sheep from Preston, which results in him getting framed by Preston.
Wallace and the sheep rescue him, but Preston and Wendolene find the sheep and
that’s where the climax occurs. Preston turns on his owner and Gromit must save
the day. You then find out Preston is a robot when he is put in the machine and
malfunctions. This is foreshadowed when Wendolene says that he ‘wasn’t created
for this.’ Audience feels certain emotions when Gromit is framed and when he is
trying to save the sheep and his owner from getting turned into dog food.
Motif: Eerie music is played through out the film whenever
something happens that can’t be explained or understood yet or when the
characters are in danger.
Characterization: The central characters are Wallace,
Gromit, Preston, Shawn, and Wendolene. The minor characters are used to help
the main characters.
Wallace- happiness, awkwardness, ignorance
Gromit- curiosity, happiness since he’s the hero, sadness
when he is framed
Preston- fear
Shawn- happiness
Wendolene- sadness
Scene and Sets: The set is made small and of clay. The
setting helps with the action because it is easier to do the things they wanted
to do. The setting is important because it takes place in a small town where
there are a lot of sheep and everyone wants wool, which would be dated a few
decades ago, which it is. It conveys this well.
